NIEM Release Candidates for Information Exchange Messages and Conformance Specifications Available for Comment

The National Information Exchange Model’s (NIEM) Management Office announces NIEM 5.0 specification release candidates are available for public comment through Wednesday, 17 March.

The specification details general conformance guidance, principles, and rules for the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM).

The specification provides normative rules and non-normative guidance for building NIEM information exchange messages.

NIEM’s TechHub provides the NIEM developer community with resources and training. The technical repositories are simplified for ease of navigation and use. The landing page for NIEM Specifications includes “Announcements,” and identifies NIEM specifications ready for review.

About the National Information Exchange Model
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) provides a model framework with rules and guidance designed to develop consistent, well-defined, enterprise level information exchanges. For fifteen years, NIEM has successfully supported information communities of interest with a shared need to exchange data within federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies, internationally, and in the private sector.
