NIEM Naming and Design Rules 5.0 Beta 1 Available for Public Review

The NIEM Naming and Design Rules (NDR) 5.0 Beta 1 release is available for public review and comment through Monday, 02 November 2020.  The NDR specifies the data model, XML Schema components, and XML data for use with the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). Please visit the NIEM NDR release page at https://niem.github.io/NIEM-NDR/ to view the latest draft release as well instructions on how to submit comments.

Highlights in this release include:

•Updated RDF for structures:metadata and structures:relationshipMetadata; which impacts the JSON representation for NIEM.

•Requiring xml:lang in conformant schemas

•Re-established structures:sequenceID for establishing order of properties.

In an effort to provide continuous delivery, the NIEM NDR 5.0 beta releases will be rolling releases.    Rather than waiting until the end of the review period, issues that are validated and accepted will be incorporated into the NDR and the beta release number will increment by one.
