Notice of Release From Jail or Prison
A Notice of Release From Jail or Prison is sent by a Jail when an offender is released from jail and by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) when an offender is released from a State Institution. The Notice of Release From Jail or Prison is sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and to the local law enforcement having jurisdiction over the location to which the offender is released. The Notice of Release From Jail or Prison is one of 28 IEPDs developed by the Texas Path to NIEM project to support information exchange between state and local government organizations throughout the state of Texas. It could also be adapted for use in other states.
