External Alarm Interface IEPD

The purpose of the External Alarm Interface 3.1 documentation is to provide a standard data exchange for electronically transmitting information between an Alarm Monitoring Company and a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). There are three primary uses for this IEPD: (1) Initial notification of an alarm event (2) Bi-directional update of status between an alarm monitoring company and the PSAP and (3) Bi-directional update of other events between an alarm monitoring company and a PSAP. This IEPD is endorsed by the Central Station Alarm Association as the standard for data exchange between alarm monitoring stations and PSAPs.      ***** On Jan 15 2009 this IEPD was approved as "APCO/CSAA ANS Standard 2.101.1-2008" ********** on Aug 5 2009 this IEPD was updated to version 3.1 to correct a namespace issue - see change log in support docs *****
