The NIEM Practical Implementer’s Course
The U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have funded the development and delivery of the training course on the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). This course provides practical implementation strategies for data exchanges and methodologies using NIEM.
NIEM consists of reusable components that enable information exchange in multiple applications and sources. The standardization of the components results in increased interoperability from data exchanges among various information systems.
This technical course is specifically designed for implementers, developers, and practitioners. Prior XML experience is recommended. This new and improved implementer’s course is designed to provide 24 hours of training, presented over three days. The course includes hands-on exercises as well as case studies, and students are provided with course material in hard and soft copy. Additionally, a list of available resources and contact information is distributed to provide students with posttraining support.
For more information on the schedule of classes and/or contact information, please visit the NIEM Training and Events Calendar.
